Help - 8 year old knocked out front teeth

Hi, my son has knocked out his front teeth - accident at school. One tooth completely came out and the emergency dentist has put it back in. The second was dislodged and the dentist has moved it into place. He has put on a temporary splint to hold them in place. Horrific experience for the poor little man. We are waiting for an nhs referral now to a trauma clinic - emergency dentist said this can take a while. Can anyone give me any guidance on what happens from here or if there is greater hope for my little boys teeth if we pay to go private and get seen quicker. If there are any personal recommendations for private trauma clinics in London I’d really appreciate them too. Thank you

The splint should not be left in place for too long, (a couple of weeks at most) that may cause problems. I am not in London but certainly know local tome waiting list for a child will be 12 to 18 months minimum.

It may be that the teeth settle down with no further problems , once the splint is off, it may be they need root filling or other treatment. They will always need regular checks as months or even years later the nerve can die off.

phone your own dentist to find out how long you may be likely to wait . These are very good paediatric dentists https://www.toothbeary.co.uk/ if the wait is likely to be too long.
