Toddler poorly for weeks

3 year old daughter has been poorly for about 5 weeks now.
She had an ear infection early December, no antibiotics given. The following week she was sent home from preschool with a temp of 40.
Went back to GP they said viral. She wasn't right all over Xmas, temps, headaches, earache, sore throat.
End Dec went back to Gp, they gave 5 days of amoxicillin which made no difference, they then said to try Clarythromicin, and if no better in 24 hours take her to a&e so I did.
Blood tests, urine and respiratory samples are all clear. They said on Friday if no better by Monday to go back for a head scan due to the headaches and prolonged temps etc.
has anyone else's little ones been through similar?
Probably should add she goes through a couple of hours every other day or so she's absolutely fine running round like a loon. The next min sitting screaming clutching the sides of her head saying head or ears hurting.
I don't want to go back unnecessarily but she's not quite right.

It's possible that the "something viral" was covid, which can take a long time to clear from the body, and which can leave you more susceptible to other infections for months afterwards (other viruses do this too - but not usually for as long)

But, as they said she should go back (so they can arrange a scan) if no better today, then of course that's what you should do. How was she over the weekend?

She's happier in herself but now has temp 38.5! Still up in the night crying.
They said it wasn't Covid, I tested her beginning Dec and they did at hospital Friday. Just wondered if anyone been through the same thing or if I should be concerned x
