Eczema or psoriasis

So my little girl is 6 months in a week and has a couple of these patches one on her back and a couple of one arm. I can’t decide if it’s eczema or psoriasis, I’ve tried getting to see a gp but can’t get an appointment

Chances are eczema or something else. I believe psoriasis is around joints and painful usually

Thanks for your reply I only thought psoriasis as it seems flaky
I’ll keep trying to get a gp appointment

A pharmacist might be able to suggest which is most likely. I find they can be the quickest way to get eyes on a rash!

Oh good idea thank you I’ll walk her down next week

I'd guess eczema - my DS has it and has patches like this. I have psoriasis too and that's not a classic presentation (although it can differ from person to person and there are different types)

Psoriasis appears on the outside of joints
Eczema tends to be on the inside of joints so behind knees etc.

both can flake.

we have both in our family. And we put it down to lactose & gluten intolerance intolerance.

Try to swap soap for oil of olatum, it’s really soothing on sore skin. My sister had that her bath from babyhood. Scratch mitts if she’s itchy.

Thank you. I suffered from eczema as a child. Her patches have stayed the same sometimes almost go but come back. She only has the one on her back and 3 patches on one arm

Just to say that I have similar patches to this all over my body, I have seen two GPs and two dermatologists and they still aren't sure if it's eczema or psorisis so I wouldn't be holding out for any quick answers.
I've been told that ultimately it doesn't matter as the treatment is the same for both.

Sorry you’re not getting answers. Thank you for replying. I’ll keep using the creams and see what helps
