Consistent night sickness and welts

Looking for advice or similar experiences please.

My LO has been sick through the night for about 2 weeks now. Usually every second night however it's now been every night for 3 days. At first the sick is the food he's had all day and then the next few times it's mainly all phlegm with a sweet smell to it. His nappies have been fine until yesterday where he had 3 loose ones.

He develops small welts when he's sick and a few days ago for around 4 days straight he was breaking out in welts on his fingers, feet and hands mainly.

He is otherwise fine, during the day he is his usual self which makes me even more confused.

We went to the Drs and they said viral, but it's 2 weeks now so I'm wondering if it's not viral? I've cut dairy out his diet just now wondering if it was an intolerance however he's still sick the last 2 nights with no dairy intake during the day.

I'm planning to phone in the morning to get another appointment but I'm just looking for anything, I don't know if I'm doing right or wrong and I'm worried he's going to lose weight and feel like this will never end.

Have you tried giving antihistamine before bed?

user1490729595 · 30/12/2023 09:34

Yeah and the rash reacts to it which is great, it's more the vomiting I'm worried/confused about.

My 5 year old has some sort of virus. No rash, but high temperature on and off, headaches, lethargy for the first week really bad. Dizziness which caused vomiting, no appetite, awful cough and congestion. Its been 3 weeks now and still no appetite, keeps randomly being sick now, I thought it was from the phlegm but tonight was after he tried to eat some dinner. He's lost so much weight, the doctor said it will just be viral but getting worried about the random vomiting and weight loss now. Some weird bugs going around at the moment, I feel your pain

Thank you for replying! Im sorry you're also going through it. We're at 2 weeks and really hoping it all starts to turn around. The random sick is worrying isnt it. I'm going to contact my hv next week and ask if she'll come and review my little one as I'm worried about weight loss too :(

i hope youre boy feels better xx
