Swollen lymph nodes

Hello

my 2 year old has had swollen nodes in his neck for over 2 months now. I initially noticed them after an illness and when they hadn’t disappeared 3 weeks later took him to the gp who was unconcerned but said to keep an eye on them and they should go in the next 2/3 weeks. To be honest I had completely forgotten about them until I noticed them again yesterday and am now in a panic and feel like a terrible mother for not taking him back to the doctors sooner.

I will try and get an appointment next week but has anyone else’s little ones had similar symptoms and nodes that just haven’t gone down as they have got better following illness?

thank you!!

Yes, my daughter has had one for about 10 weeks now. They have done blood tests which show that she has had recent infections (coughs, colds etc)
I've been beside myself with worry about it being something sinister but its not growing which I think is a good sign?
Hopefully someone else will come along woth some advice.

DD is 14 now and the lymph nodes in her neck fluctuate in size throughout each winter. We did actually see the GP about it again a few weeks ago as they have been particularly swollen this autumn and it had been years since they were examined. The GP was very relaxed, asked her a few questions about her general health and said it was clearly her body's way of dealing with minor infections.

@Choccymumma If she has had blood tests then I’m sure that it would have picked up anything more sinister 🤞🏻. I’m dreading having to go for blood tests as my son is terrified of anything like drs/dentist/hairdresser etc - it was hard work just getting him to let the dr feel his neck!

@dancinginthewind thank you for this - is it multiple nodes she has raised? I’ve found at least 3 on my sons neck which is making me super anxious!
