DS diet after illness

DS8 is a tall, very slim and energetic boy. You can see his ribs. He eats well overall but is getting fussier and has limited fruit and veg (hates fruit with skin and only eats broccoli, cauli, baby sweetcorn and carrots). He will drink a smoothie and likes 'wet' fruit like watermelon.

He's been pooing after every meal for the last few days with the odd tummy ache here and there. Pharmacy said put him on white bread for 3 days to slow it down a bit. He can't really afford to lose much more weight.

I struggle with veg at lunchtimes as he likes cold meats but won't eat cucumber, tomatoes, peppers etc.

Meals he likes are:

Pasta - his favourite food. Wolfs down 2 helpings. Will eat any sauce (I hide veg in it)
Likes cheese
Pizza - will eat 3 large adult slices
Potatoes - will eat mash but leaves some
Chips - only with gravy
Fish - only breaded
Likes cottage pie
Likes spag bol
Likes mild vegetable curry with rice
Doesn't like chicken as 'too chewy'

The only meal he will completely finish atm is chicken nuggets and pasta. Do I give him what he wants until his appetite is fully back and his stomach has settled? Will too much pasta block him up? He's been hovering around 29kg (height 142) for months. It's my family's build though. My Dad was 6ft3 with hollow legs.
