Chesty cough straight after bug?

Just looking to see if anyone else has experienced this. My dd4 came down with asickness bug on Christmas eve morning. She was sick a lot until yesterday afternoon(noravirus spreading round the family) and now today she's woken with a very chesty phlegmy cough. Has she just been unlucky or could the two be linked? Thanks.

Did you test for COVID? This was the progression of symptoms for my little one

Thanks, never thought of that since we assumed it was noravirus after being in contact with people who came down with it too and with how many times she was sick. The coughing has thrown me though as she wasn't coughing till she woke up this morning with a really phlegmy chesty non stop cough, going to pick up a test and see though otherwise she must just have somehow picked up a virus on top of a sickness bug 🙈

A similar pattern ran through DSs class at the end of term. None of them tested positive for Covid, but lots had a vomiting bug, followed immediately by a cough and temperature.

Thanks, I tested for covid and it was negative. The cough is awful, just strange how it followed the sickness bug
