My DD had a tonsillectomy and adenoids out 2.5
weeks ago so we are JUST out the woods in terms of post op infection risk period I think.
She came down with a high temp on Friday- Saturday, no other symptom at all and - for covid. Seemed better Xmas Eve/ day but last night barely slept, kept crying out and had a fever by 6am. She’s now got a deep cough and achey legs and a bit off food.

If it wasn’t for her op a few weeks ago I’d assume just a virus as cough / achey legs and temp but I don’t want to be remiss and ignore a bacterial infection that might need antibiotics- would you take her to out of hours or just ride it out? Fever is responding to calpol / nurofen and she’s drinking so no urgent concerns.

just need another mum to bounce this off as on my own.

Thank you (and happy Christmas)x

It sounds like you’re managing it well and I wouldn’t be too concerned BUT I would take her to ooh because she just had an op and she’s only 2.

It’s so hard because normally I’d confidently declare it a winter virus and ride it out with snuggles and fluids at home but we are just out the woods from operation so it’s making me twitchy☹️she’s 6 not 2 if that makes any difference? and she’s good at telling me what hurts etc and it’s just achey legs and her cough sounds rewllt
deep.

I would go to ooh. No harm if she's fine but could get on top of a post op fever quick
