Desmopressin - melts work but tablets don't

Just curious as the gp says this is impossible. Son was originally on 240 micrograms desmopressin melts. It was helping but not as much as we'd like so switched to 400 micrograms tablets. This didn't work at all, it was like we hadn't bothered with meds at all. So now the gp has put him back on melts but on a higher dose. She is still saying that what happened isn't possible though so I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I’m sure our continence consultant said that melts are more effective. I just can’t remember why!
