CMPA and hives

Anyone get hives when trying to do the milk ladder- my 20m old has had hives for a week and realised it's coincided with introducing dairy again.

That means that she has an ige reaction so you need to stop the ladder. The ladder is only for non-ige allergies. You now need to see a GP and ask for allergy testing if you haven't already and then reintroduction of milk needs to be done under supervision i.e. you trial milk at the hospital.

yes - but with my DC it was her bowel that was allergic to dairy, the hives were caused at the same time coincidentally by a histamine allergy, we saw a paediatric allergies consultant privately who then referred us to his NHS clinic and wrote to the GP with what prescriptions she needed, she did grow out of them both by school age.
