Croup?

So my DD aged 4 has woken up sounding like a little seal. Obviously I'm assuming Croup and it's Rife in our local area! Just have 2 questions!

1, is it possible for a 4 year old to get this, as neither of mine have ever had it before! I just associate it with babies and toddlers for some reason.

  1. She had a lower chest infection 3 weeks ago, that she was on IV antibiotics for, should I be concerned?

TIA
Ella

Yes a 4 year can have croup. One of mine required hospital treatment for croup aged 5 and still gets croupy now at nearly 7!
I would book a gp appointment for today. They should see croup on the same day and can prescribe steroids if they think it will worsen significantly over night.

@Autumn1990 thank you.

This morning the cough was really dry, but it doesn't seem as dry right now.

I'm waiting on a call back now.

Thank you for your reply, no experience with Croup, is this the one that gets worse at night and peaks on like day 5 ?

Thank you.

Ella
