My son is 6 and noticed this in his chest/armpit area today . Should I be concerned? He's fine in himself. Yesterday we were out and he had a meltdown (asd) and I had to grab him to stop him running away. Could it be that? Shoukd I check with a gp in case?

Hi Op, yes I would imagine it’s probably a mark caused by grabbing him yesterday; my DC get similar if they have a rucksack rubbing on their shoulders, for example. If he is well in himself, with no other rashes, then I would just keep an eye on it. If it spreads / he develops other rashes and becomes unwell, I would seek medical attention.

These rashes are petechial (non blanching) and are caused by blood vessels bursting under the skin. If there is an innocent answer for your DC having one (as you described in the episode yesterday), then I wouldn’t worry.
