1yo always ill and on antibiotics

My 14mo just seems to be constantly ill at the moment and on antibiotics. I’m worried there’s something wrong with his immune system, or that the antibiotics might be detrimental to him over time.

He’s had four courses since birth.

He was on a double course right after he was born as I got some sort of infection during labour and passed it to him.

He was fine fine for a while until he started nursery at 11mo.

Since then he’s had his fair share of colds, but he’s also had antibiotics for an ear infection, hand foot and mouth which turned into a bacterial skin infection, and most recently a chest infection. Each time he’s felt really unwell with a high temperature.

He seems to have had a cough on and off for about two months now, and I thought after the most recent lot of antibiotics it was getting better, but now he has a cough again with sneezing and a runny nose.

Honestly no idea at this point whether it’s just another cold and it’ll be fine or whether it’s the same bacterial chest infection coming back and it’s antibiotic resistant or something 😞

He was diagnosed with neonatal rhinitis at about 4mo so maybe he’s more susceptible to respiratory infections because of that.

Obviously I’ll go back to the doctor again if he starts feeling ill with the cough and starts getting a temperature again but I’m just feeling so worried about him all the time!

I know lots of illness is normal when they first start nursery, but surely not to this extent?! Even the nursery say he’s been in the wars more than average.
