Hello,
I am becoming increasingly anxious about my 5 month old despite many reassurences from doctors but I can't help but feel something is wrong.
My daughter got a tummy bug 10 days ago. Threw up a few times and the nappies were something out of a horror movie! Her normal poo were watery and mucussy (EBF and doctors haven't been concerned despite me worrying about this) and they turned into a thick paste with large lumps of hard milk. The smell was enough to want to evacuate the building.
Since then, she is feeding more, her poos are still thicker but if anything look more healthy now than they have ever done before! But what hasn't changed is her temprature is dropping at night. One night I took her temprature and it was 35.6. My baby runs at 36.6 like clockwork before this. At first I thought I had underdressed her. But for 10 nights running, despite kicking up the heating in our house, dressing her far more than our groegg suggests, her temprature ranges from 35.3 to 35.8. One night it was 36 and I wanted to cry with relief.
I have spoken to at least 5 doctors about this and each have said its a normal temprature. To wrap her up warmer. To not wrap her up warmer. That it must be my thermeter is slightly off. But it's not. I check with two theremeters (different brands) under the armpit.
Has anyone experienced this? She has slowly become more herself during the day and by her behaviour you wouldn't know she had been unwell (other than I suspect she is teething) but her sleep is more disrupted than usual (some nights waking every 45 minutes). I plan on getting another doctors appointment in the morning as she has had some tiny spots of red blood in two nappies and I fully intend on being that mum that raises this issue again.
Many thanks in advance.
