Hi everyone. My youngest child is 3 and a half. He had a slight illness about 6 weeks ago and stopped eating for a few days. Turned out his tonsils were swollen. He’s been in good form since. Laughing, playing, just his normal self. BUT he won’t eat much. He drinks milk/milkshakes, water or dilute, eats all kinds of yogurts and custard but that’s it. Won’t even eat sweets or chocolate or any of his favourite food.

the doctors won’t do much because he’s not lost weight, still peeing loads and still doin number 2’s, but because he’s stopped eating fruit he now has problems with constipation again.

has anyone else experienced this. It’s like he’s scared to eat anything solid now. Has he just scared himself when his throat was sore maybe. He always ate everything I gave him. And he’s a solid wee boy. But I always feel like he’s left out now at dinner. He’ll pick his favourite foods and feed them to me. I’m at a loss now.

Will also state I still breastfeed him at night so maybe that’s why he’s not lost weight. Maybe it wouldnt help much at this stage. It’s more a comfort thing for him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Keep offering food and things you think they are likely to eat and wait. Keep with foods that are simple to make and can be reheated and tried another day for your own sanity
My daughter is not the best eater and it doesn't take much to send her off her food completely. We have limited options due to food allergies but patience is the best but also most frustrating thing that helps in my experience
