any ideas?

My son is 3 and yesterday started oughing non stop but come the evening he's got a red angry rash around his mouth. He's now got a fever, been visibly shivering on and off, tummy ach etc... he's got ill very quickly. I'm calling the doctor at 8 but any ideas? He cries everytime he coughs.

Have a look in his throat for white spots. Does he have a sand paper rash on his body?

Have a Google of impetigo and hand/foot/mouth too.

Hand, foot & mouth would be my guess.. but speak to a doctor

He wont let me look in his mouth as it hurts. He wouldn't even take calpol . Had to force it. No rash anywhere else. But his lip is swollen a little . He's prone to tonsillitis but not had these symptoms before. Poor little man. I hate it

Possibly scarlet fever. Def talk to docs.

Currently on our way to hospital as paramedics came out and weren't happy with how lethargic he is and his sugars are low.

The doctor took one look at his face abd said scarlet fever so he's starting antibiotics. We're home but now got to get him to drink which is a challenge!

Try ice lollies to get some fluids in him too.
