Stomach issue, or normal?

DD1 is 4.5 and most days has quite a pronounced pot belly. Is this normal?

For context, she's pretty small for her age, both in height (101cm) and weight (15kg). This isn't surprising, as DH and I are also small. It's not a weight concern I have, it's just her stomach is often very disproportionate.

I know young toddlers can have big tummies but is this something she should have grown out of by now? She's very active, with what I think is a good appetite, no signs of illness generally. But she is very gassy, with extremely frequent burping all day, and slightly less frequent (but still frequent!) farting. This is a more recent change.

Does this suggest a digestive issue? Or are some children just pot bellied and burpy?

Depends on diet I suppose. There are lots of foods that could cause gas and bloating so it could just be that. Maybe keep a food diary for a couple of weeks and see if there are obvious causes?
