Times for 3 x antibiotics

Primary aged child.

For 3 x day antibiotics is it split across 24 hrs, eg every 8 hours such as

7am
3pm
11pm

Or, just split across normal
waking hours eg can the “last dose of the day” be given when they go to bed about 8pm?

And then out of interest was times for 4 x daily antibiotics?

If it says x times a day I do over the waking day.
If it says every X hours I do that
