Hi all

I know we need to see the GP however I really wanted to see if anyone has experienced this? My daughter is 1, and for the last 4/5 days she has had pale yellow/off white poo. It's not the colour of chalk it's darker. Could it be the transition to cows milk? She has been on cows milk gradually from early October and full cows milk from end of October but the poo has only changed in last few days

My daughter is 13 months old and has had poos like this all week. She has a viral infection at the moment and has recently transitioned on to cows milk (just for a bit of background info). Did you find out what was causing this white poo? Dr Google only says scary things and our GP said to keep an eye on things but didn't have an explanation. Thanks

You need medical advice. When mine was like that it was because my liver wasn’t working.

Babyenroute · 04/02/2024 20:36

Mine had this before after a sickness bug

AegeanDreamer84 · 05/02/2024 12:27

@Snowdropsarecoming oh no, so sorry to hear that! What happened? Our GP did mention this but said it was unlikely to just come on and would be something she'd have from birth.

@Babyenroute this sounds more plausible (and less scary!) - how long did it take to clear up?

We're wondering if we've been overfeeding her milk too as she pretty much went of solids when she was in the height of this virus? Slowly bringing solids back in now and trying to wean her off the quantity of milk she's been having. (Please don't judge, first time Mum here.)

Thanks

Mine used to get it after a sickness bug too.

At least 2 of my dc have had this recently during a sickness bug.

I had a gall stone stuck in my bile duct. It freed itself and I had my gall bladder removed. My liver was fine after that.

AegeanDreamer84 · 05/02/2024 12:44

Thank you all, this is so reassuring!

@Snowdropsarecoming glad you got better after that 😊

My daughter is 13 months and is still not sleeping through the night. She wakes 1/2 times in the night still needing milk. She eats well during the day.

any advise.? Xx

Meagain24 · 01/03/2025 14:44

@hereforadvice2022 i don’t suppose you got an answer on this? Thanks

Trallia · 01/03/2025 15:05

This is a GP check thing. However the last time I saw a GP about a similar issue (as an adult with a history of liver problems) it followed a bout of norovirus. He told me that it happens when things move your through your system too fast, without enough bile being added.
