Cough cough cough

My 20m old has coughed 24/7 for the past 8 days. Been to the GP twice and been told it's viral. He was spiking huge temperatures but they seemed to have stopped. Also had vomiting likely from coughing but also stopped. But the actual cough is relentless.

His cot has been raised and he's drinking loads (barely eating but that's a side issue - food regression?? That's so so stressful).

Any other little ones had persistent coughs?

Olbas oil in a humidifier and if particularly bad I put a drop in a handkerchief and dab it on the under side of her pillow or before a pillow around waist height on the sheet. I had bronchitis last year and coughed all night every night for 3 months and this was the only thing that provided me with any relief. I put the the olbas directly on my pillow which I wouldn't do for an infant and try to keep it nowhere near her face.
