Help! What is on my child’s arm?

Hello all!

My baby is now 4 months old. I noticed a dry skin patch on her upper arm, and now suddenly, it’s turned a lot harder and the patch is a lot more concentrated. There seems to be smaller dry skin patches nearby, but the main one in a circle shape. I didn’t think much of it before, as it seemed like mere dry skin, but it’s so obvious and hard now! She doesn’t itch it or seem to find it painful. Any experience or advice???

Thank you

It’s not at all bad if it is but pls make sure. By rash is not meningitis or sepsis. You need to research them in order to discount those immediately. Or call Nhs helpline to be on safe side.

Hello @FrogFighter

I just checked on the NHS website, and I think it’s a ringworm! As it’s only in that one area xx

Yes could be.

Ringworm

It doesn’t look like ringworm to me but patches in a circle like that are usually fungal a GP once told me. Ringworm usually has a clear centre. I’d make a GP app to get some cream, if she’s otherwise well I’d wait until Monday. A pharmacist is very likely to say see a GP when it’s a baby, especially at that age.

Have you got any pets? The circle shape looks like possible ringworm

chillin12 · 10/11/2023 23:55

Thank you everyone for your responses! I will take her to the pharmacy tomorrow. And no, I don’t have any pets x

@FrogFighter Thank you for your concern! Thankfully, she doesn’t have meningitis or sepsis symptoms. She seems well otherwise, but does vomit a lot! However, the vomiting is nothing new.
