What age is she @Kann5334? Does she have a fever or anything too?
Id probably get advice from 111 with the neck symptoms. If it was that alone and was there when she woke up then I’d think she’d slept funny but coupled with the fact she’s become sicker as the day went on, I don’t think it would hurt to get checked

My immediate thought was scarlet fever. If it is, she will need a course of antibiotics. But maybe not the runny nose…..

Hope she feels better soon.

Also, that was before I saw the picture and I think with scarlet fever, the tongue might have more of a white coating.

Id try the GP again If she still isn’t well in the morning.

She had scarlet fever and strawberry tongue 3 years ago what left her in hospital cause we couldn't control her temperature but so far no temperature I've just been giving her medicine ever 4-6 hrs

Her tongue looks normal to me but her tonsils look swollen

Tangofantastic · 10/11/2023 10:50

It’s hard to see but the back of her throat looks very red
so I’d say definitely tonsillitis- I’m a veteran tonsillitis mom 🤦‍♀️
not sure it’s scarlet fever- that doesn’t look like a strawberry tongue (yet) but If her neck is sore with swollen glands and if her throat is as red as I think it is it’s definitely worth a trip to see if viral or bacterial tonsillitis. I’ve attached a picture of classic strawberry tongue with petichaie (red spots) on roof of mouth which both =scarlet fever when my daughter last had it in case that helps 💞hope she feels better soon x

Her tonsils aren't fully visible in the photos, but what you can see isn't red. The redness you can see is on the pharynx - pharyngitis, aka a common sore throat. I wouldn't call that a strawberry tongue but it is so very difficult to tell by a photo alone. See how she goes, absolutely no need to worry about SF, tonsillitis or to see a GP in the absence of a fever. The runny nose also makes viral more likely. At the present moment I'd say she has a cold.
