Appendix removal recovery

Hi my 11 year old had their appendix removed 6 days ago and I was wondering what the recovery has been like for others who have had their's removed for comparison?
Overall seems ok, but still complaining of pain (although needing meds less) feeling nauseous on and off.
eating and drinking normally
can manage out to the toilet and back with some help getting up
sits out in an arm chair in my bedroom to eat/colour etc. but prefers to be propped up in bed
They were feeling pretty miserable day 4 so we tackled the stairs and went out to a coffee shop, but think we overdid it (was that to soon?!) as although helped mental state they didn't want to move yesterday or go to other parent this weekend

I guess I'm just worried I'm not doing enough to encourage recovery but also worrying I'm doing too much?

Thanks in advance!

That’s not normal and they need to see someone as something may be amiss. They should be up and walking around pretty much immediately after, and at that age you should be actively discouraging them from rushing around, doing inappropriate things such as playing soccer etc, but no way should an 11yo need to be propped up in bed recovering or need assistance to stand and sit 6 days post-op. Best to get it checked out.

Ds had his removed a couple of years ago

Surgery just before 8pm on Monday, home Tuesday morning, back at school Friday.

It was keyhole and really not to bad, just 3 small incisions

If you're kid hasn't bounced back after 6 days you need to get them checked
