My 13 m.o has one (maybe two but it’s hard to tell) bumps on the back of her head - I think it’s where her occital lymph nodes are. It’s smaller than a pea but very hard and sticking out significantly. I think it’s maybe been there a week or so but I can’t be 100% sure it’s not been longer.

Took her to the GP who has referred us for an ultrasound - didn’t take a look in her ears/at her throat or anything and the scan will be weeks away. I know it might go down in that time but I’m really anxious about it. She has a cold but is otherwise completely well in herself. Has anyone been through anything similar? Just looking to hear others’ stories to reassure myself it won’t necessarily be something bad.

My 7 months boy has a small pea sized movable lymph node at the back of his head which I discovered when he was 10 weeks. GP said not to worry. Then also from 12 weeks I noticed a lump on the front side of his head which was soft and squashy. I freaked out. We were send for an ultrasound and it was ages to wait so we did a private one as I couldn’t wait that long without worrying and then we did NHS scan. Both confirmed a blood vessel malformation- called hemangioma which is benign and very common in infants. The paediatrician told us later that little ones get all sorts of lumps and bumps and vast majority of them are benign. If you can maybe do a private scan and then NHS
