So ds has been very lucky so far and this is really the first time he's been sick.

He took a chesty cough 8 days ago and you can hear the rattle in his chest when he's breathing. Then he'll cough and it will clear for a while and then return. He's in good form otherwise, eating drinking sleeping and playing well etc and hasn't had a temperature at any point. So I was happy enough to let him work through it. But my mum and now his nursery have both commented on it and it's making me second guess if I should be ringing the gp to get him checked out? I don't want to waste their time. Google says to wait 3 weeks...

I would take him to the gp, he’s 11 months old so there’s harm in getting him checked over. No doctor should fob you off and it will definitely reassure you.
My little one is 18 months and I’ve not waited to get her seen if she’s got a cough etc
