My 2yo DS had this mole/freckle on his hand. Appeared a while ago but much smaller. Seems to have got a lot bigger recently. Now staring to freak out about it tonight worrying. Anyone seen this before.

It looks like a harmless freckle to me, we can get them on our palms, I have one on the inner part of my finger which has been there for donkey's years. Set your mind at rest and ask the doctor if you continue to be concerned.

If you are concerned, you see the GP, but moles do grow with the person.

I have 2 on my palms. One has faded over the last few years, one has stayed the same. I’ve had them for as long as I can remember.
most likely nothing to worry about but get checked if need be to ease your concern.

So contact doctor and they asked for a picture; I sent it and explained it had grown. They said they wouldn't see him for another 6WEEKS! Cause they'd want to see if it changes again. Can I insist it's seen in person? Should be a rule that all kids under 5 are seen in person for everything!

Sounds sensible to me. Keep an eye on it. I get that you’re worried and waiting is hard (one of my DSs has a brain tumour) but sometimes you need to wait and observe.

DD15 has had a similar mole on her foot, FIL is a GP and said he'd never seen melanoma in children that age.
I'd suggest mentioning to the GP next time you're in, but if it looks strange the of course take them in asap

The doctor is well trained in looking for which exact irregularities to look for, red flags etc, so if they’ve just said keep an eye on it , then that’s probably the best way.
I can’t really see the difference in size in the two pics posted but that said, if it was me and I was confident it had grown and felt concerned, I’d be insisting on being seen quicker. The reason being that the very rare types of moles that would be sinister on the palms of hands respond well to early treatment but progress aggressively if left.
Most likely it’s just a normal mole growing as your little one grows, but 6 weeks of worrying would be very stressful.
