Hi,
I have a 3 month old baby girl and she started with a cough this morning. Little bit of a runny nose but not much. I brought her to the gp and he said no temp, no sore throat, her chest sounded clear. She hasn't drank much of her last 2 bottles(one at 8 and one at 11) when she usually drinks every bit. Her cough is still there and seems to have gotten worse. I gave her calpol at 11:15 and she is now asleep. There's no wheezing with her breathing that I can hear anyway. My question is, should I be worried about rsv? I'm wondering should I just take her straight to a&e to be checked for it as I've heard so many horror stories about rsv. I can't go to sleep I feel like I need to keep an eye on her.

If it’s just a cough at the moment I would keep an eye and if there’s any more signs - wheezing, high temp, sunken fontanelle, or she’s sucking in her stomach with every breath I’d take her to A&E.

How is she this morning?

If she isn't feeding or drinking I'd be concerned about dehydration more than anything. If she isn't wheezing and seems alert and having liquids i wouldn't be too concerned. But just keep an eye out ofcourse.
