Pen ink deep under skin

Hi everyone

I am hoping that someone can help give a bit of guidance, which would be really appreciated.

My daughter is 3.5 years old and was caught on her face with a pen by another child. The pen was apparently a white board pen and it went under my daughter's skin. Unfortunately, it happened right near her eye and is in an awkward place.

We thought it may just go over time but it's been at least 6 months now and it has hardly changed. Maybe it's a bit lighter, but it's still there and not going away.

Ive done countless searches online about this but all results seem to be regarding permanent pen ink on a child's skin, not pen ink under it.

We've been to our doctor about it but they didn't really have anything meaningful to say. I'm guessing they just didn't know, so they didn't want to say/guess.

I'm now worried that this ink is effectively a tattoo on my daughter's face that will never come off, although I'm hoping that I'm wrong. Surely there are other kids that have had something similar and someone knows what can be done.

I've attached a picture of her eye with the ink, to show what I mean.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would find out if you can see a skin specialist.
It could be permanent so I would push to be seen by someone that is more knowledgeable. my partner has a scar from a pencil from an pencil stick injury in primary school and I have a grey scar on my knee from gravel that wasn't cleaned from my knee before it got infected after I fell off my bike when I was 8....yep when my dad was left in charge!

Did you get anywhere with this OP?

My daughter has similar, also near her eye, although pencil rather than pen. I naively thought it would grow out but like your daughter, it's now been a good 6 months!
