Hello,
I was just writing in the hope to get a bit of advice. My DS started to become unwell on Monday with a high temp, being sick when coughing, a rattley chest. He stopped drinking much and became dehydrated with only weeing twice in 24hrs. This carried on as as the day and evening went on he got worse and started saying he couldn't always catch his breath so I called 111 who said they'd call back with jn an hour.
111 never called back so I took him to A&E yesterday morning and they diagnosed a chest infection and was put on amox for 5 days.

His temp has come down to 37 now but he is still really lethargic, not eating, not drinking, saying they have a sore throat and that they can still find it hard to catch their breath sometimes and that their chest hurts sometimes too.
I plan on taking him to the drs again tomorrow but wanted to see if this is normal or whether they do need to go back to GP again.

TIA for the help.

Over 48 hours after antibiotics and struggling with breathing, I would be getting him checked out now.

My son was in A&E yesterday and gave same antibiotics like you. Day 2 and he is till very tired and no appetite but his temperature is gone which I am happy about ! Don’t worry they will bounce back. Kids are like this. Don’t overthink it or u will end up with anxiety !

@Insomniafromworrying thank you, its hard sometimes to not over think everything but he has finally turned a corner this evening after being quite unwell this morning again. I'm hoping we will be getting to the end of it. How is your DS doing?
