Hi,

My DS was admitted into hospital last weekend with dehydration and low blood sugar. Discharged to do a disimpaction. Started with 4 sachets then 6 etc, now up to 10-12 a day (depending how many I can get in him as he’s understandably had enough).

So we’ve been on 10-12 for 6 days now and the GP added Picosulfate on Thursday (10 ml a night).

Saturday night he passed some dark, strong smelling stuff. Yesterday the same and he had an accident. Today some orange coloured diarrhoea.

Am I right in thinking we are waiting for brown water? He’s not been able to go to school because of stomach pain, worry of needing the toilet excessively and I feel like it’s taking a very long time.

Any help or advice appreciated

Disimpaction can take months in some cases, it all depends how backed up they are.
Problem is if you don't do it and stop mid way through it'll only make it longer & harder next time. And yes brown water.

Are you on Facebook? There's a really good group called Movicol mummies, full of brilliant advice.
Brown water is what you're aiming for, vbut you'll be able to get some really good advice on that group.

Thank you both, I really appreciate your replies. I have put a request in to join the group.
