sore Legs and temp?

Tangofantastic · 15/10/2023 21:28

Must not google with my health anxiety so wondering what you would think is wrong?
DD7 running temp of 38.1 after a day of complaining on and off of
feeling coldand sore legs, this worsened and they are obviously sore tonight. Both legs and neither are swollen so my
guess is fluey muscle aches? She’s had a bad cold
for about 5 days and i thought it was on its
way out but then she got this temp last night ☹️the only
other thing to add is she had flu spray 3 days ago, could
this be the cause? Meant to be going away tomorrow and nervous to have a
poorly child away, though hope this is my mad health anxiety talking. Thank you!

Covid ? Lots of it about

SeaToSki · 15/10/2023 21:33

Sounds like a virus and she has been up and about too quickly. Take calpol etc when you go away and a thermometer so you can keep an eye on her, then lots of rest, sleep and fluids

CompaniesHouse · 15/10/2023 21:34

Probably just side effects of flu vaccine. I had mine last week and had a couple of days of feeling shivery and achy. All ok with paracetamol, fluids, and a bit of rest.

Is there any signs of a UTI? My DD had a bit of a snotty nose last week, no temp but then complained of sore legs. The next day it was clear she had a UTI so took her to the doctors and was told the sore legs could have been from the UTI. It cleared up with the antibiotics.

Thanks so much, hate being a
single mum with holidays when they are not too well ☹️She’s negatice
for covid as I tested her with this bad cold but these sore legs and temp have come as a surprise. I too am hoping it’s a sofe
effect of the
flu spray though her brother is totally fine and had it on same day ☹️She’s taking lots of fluids and calpol is helping the aches so that’s all good I think.

How interesting, I’d not thought of that. No obvious signs, she’s peeing fine and it’s clear and she’s not saying it hurts but I’ll definitely keep an eye on that, thank you 🥰

My son (age 9 at the time) had sore legs and it turned out to be covid. His legs were so sore that he couldn’t walk and was crawling round the house, it was bizarre. Maybe this is a new bug on top of her cold but I hope not. My son also had a headache and fever but he has made a full recovery. Maybe do another covid test - it sometimes takes a while to kick in. Hope she feels better soon

Winter42 · 15/10/2023 22:45

The first couple of times my daughter had COVID she woke up with a fever and crying that her legs and head ached.

Tangofantastic · 15/10/2023 23:14

wow you guys are the best, thank you. she has complained on and off
of a headache the last few days so this would fit. she’s asleep finally after nurofen and calpol but temp still a little raised so I’m thinking it’s more than a cold. I’ll re-test for covid tomorrow morning, thank you 💞

How is your DD, OP? Hope she’s feeling better

Tangofantastic · 16/10/2023 22:04

You’re so kind to ask. She seemed much better today until her legs
hurt again at dinner and she got a sore
tummy at bedtime….so I’m confused ☹️Wish there was a magic wand to tell you what is wrong with them!
