Any asthma nurses / Drs out there?

Dc has asthma but has always had their heart set on joining the armed forces.

they currently take montelukast every evening and Symbicort 2 puffs am and pm. This controls the asthma very well. They have never had an attack or hospital admission.

To have any chance of being accepted into the army or navy they need to be off the steroid inhaler. While we don’t want to make them unwell, if there is an alternative felt the Symbicort that might be effective we’d be keen it try it. Does anyone know of anything that might be suitable?
