I feel like I’m writing this thread for some reassurance because I’m so worried about my 22 month old DS.

Tuesday evening he came down with a fever and was really unhappy figured he was getting a cold or something similar. This morning he started to come up in a rash that looked like chicken pox. This evening I’ve checked his throat and his tonsils are full of white pus.

Im so mad at myself for not taking him to the GP this morning - he could be on antibiotics by now 😪

Oh don’t be! you’ve
done
a Great job identifying it now 🥰my dd is prone to it and now at first signs she gets swabbed which takes
3 days to come back, and when it’s positive that’s 4
days she “could” have been on them but wasn’t. But once she’s on them she’s much better within 48
hours. No mama bear guilt! You’re doing a great job taking care of him and will get him seen tomorrow! Nothing else you can do. Hope he feels better soon x

You can probably call 111 and see an out of hours GP

Sunflowershade · 11/10/2023 21:17

@Tangofantastic thank you so much for your kind words I really needed that 😭 it’s so easy to feel so guilty when they’re in so much pain. Good to know that your DD recovers from it well too 😊

@Tortugaa we have rang 111 and just waiting on a call back. Either way I’ll take him to the GP first thing in the morning and hopefully start clearing it up.

Here to sympathise as my 15mo DD came down with scarlet fever, aka strep, on Sunday. Then I got it on Tuesday. It’s been a hell of a week but we are on the mend. Hope your DS is too

Sunflowershade · 20/10/2023 22:23

@CheddarCheetah so sorry to hear about your DD it is so worrying and even worse that you got it too. I hope you are both feeling better! My DS is absolutely fine now thankfully, he finished his antibiotics this morning. Fortunately neither me or DH got it but he did spread it to his cousin and my sister before we knew he had it. I think it’s starting to do the rounds again 😫

Glad he’s better and you escaped it! It really is rotten!
