Temp, sickness and rash

My 12 month old was sick all over the both of us yesterday am, and had a temp of about 38°C, was sick again in the pm and couldn't really keep anything down. I thought he was better this morning, but rung the doctors because he was pulling his ear. They saw him straight away and checked him over and said it was viral and ride it out. He seems to have gotten worse this afternoon, he's keeping his food and milk down now, but his temperature is now 38.9°C, and he has a rash on his cheek (will insert pic) and he's just not acting himself at all he is so cuddly and so whingy, usually he's here there and everywhere, and I'm so worried about him. He's fallen asleep on my chest and he's so hot :( should I be worried?

Personally I would take him to OOH, I am a bit over the top and get anxious but I always think it’s best to have a wasted journey than anything and to happen. Does the rash disappear when u put a glass on it?

Is temp coming down on calpol / nurofen? If it is then I think it is most likely viral. 38.9 isn’t really
that high. If temp isn’t coming down on calpol/ nurofen definitely take him in but if it is I wouldn’t worry and would just ride it out and hope he feels better soon xx

Are you giving him regular paracetamol and ibuprofen?

If his temperature remains high despite this, call 111.

38.9 isn't especially high though, so try not to be too anxious.
