Repetitive snorting…

So we have all had a cough and cold for ages now so we are extra phlegmy (sorry TMI). My son has started snorting in order to clear his nose and throat but is doing it constantly. He doesn’t need to blow his nose as nothing is there but the snorting is just so much! Whilst putting him to bed I counted he did it 113 times! He did it so much the other day he got a nose bleed.

Im wondering if it’s a habit now? He said he doesn’t know why he does it and can’t stop. When we are out and about and busy he barely does it! I don’t know how to stop it as it’s clearly not nice for him or anyone that can hear it and it’s driving me insane I want to cover my ears!!

Any opinions or advice welcome?! Thanks!

My son did a snort followed by a throat clearing. It was eventually diagnosed as asthma.

Interesting. My husband has sinus issues that’s caused lung damage and now has asthma! I have given antihistamines to try and help but am convinced it’s a habit as I notice he’s stops when he’s busy!
