Circular mark on child's face

DS has had this tiny circular mark on his face for over 4 weeks now. Doesn't seem to be growing, itchy, or spreading. It's bothering me as it hasn't gone away, and I'm searching my brain (and google) for possible causes, including insect bites, ringworm, or eczema, but nothing really seems to fit. It's under the skin (smooth) and looks a bit like a circle of broken capillaries. Any ideas anyone?

Looks a bit like a hive, but surprised it's still there a month later.
Allergic/sensitive to something?

I'm not sure, pharmacist said to try anti-fungal cream (which we are) but when compared to pics of fungal infections, I don't think it's that

Looks like ringworm to me.
