Potential coeliac diagnosis for DS age 4

Hi

my don had blood tests done in June to investigate some issues with his bowels (consistently loose in texture and going 2-7 times a day but only doing small amounts each time) and we had a call in July to say he has potentially got coeliac and further tests are required.

appointment came through for February (!!!) and I asked for this to be fast tracked as it is affecting toilet training and have managed to get an appointment through For next week.

what can I expect at the appointment? I plan to do a food diary and have this ready (he is a fussy eater so week by week is fairly similar) and know they will likely need to do further tests but any idea on how long the wait will be for these?

thanks!

Dc was diagnosed at 4. First appointment (following positive bloods) was lots of questions from a consultant about family medical history, symptoms, weight and height, looking at bowel charts and diet charts I'd completed. They then consented for gastrostomy (although I know sometimes they don't do this now). Make sure dc continues to eat gluten.
The coeliac society has lots of information which might help.

Ring and ask. My dd had bloods, then 6 weeks later bloods again. We said no to endoscopy. Check if it's that.

Look at the coeliac UK site. You can even phone up (for free) and discuss it with their specialised nurses. Read the info on the site first. You need to get this sorted out as children can have stunted growth if they are not absorbing the vitamins and nutrients. In food diary make a note of what time he eats and what time he poos to see how quickly things are going through him Sweetcorn is an easy thing to spot!

DD was diagnosed at 4. Slightly high blood test then an endoscopy that confirmed coeliac. The endoscopy was fine, easier than the blood test by far.
