I noticed about a month ago my 15month old son has a pea sized squishy little lump at the back of his head almost near his neck I've monitored it it hasn't changed in size and it doesn't seem to bother him atall not even if I feel it just wondering has anyone had the same with there child I'm going to take him to the doctors about it purely because its not gone and it's been some time my mum said it could be a lymph node but I don't know

Lymph node is my guess. My DS had very obvious ones (either side of the nape of his neck). They can be very obvious in young children, especially when child has a virus / are teething.

You see my son just has this lump on one side that's what's worrying me I've rang the doctor he said it sounds like a lymph node but he's still gonna bring my son in just to check it over which I'm glad about thankyou for your answer xx

Children can be odd with lymph nodes - my DS has one constantly enlarged one on his collar bone - only on the right side though! Hope the GP confirms it’s nothing to worry about 🙂

Yes thankgod the doctor said it's only a lymph node and it's feels normal but I said what if it doesn't go away and he said then come back and we can get some blood tests done and that I should just keep monitoring it but other than that he's fit and healthy so I shouldn't worry but thankyou so much for your reassurance it's so true that you never stop worrying once your a mum xx

That’s a relief OP 🙂 yes, my DS has had many blood tests because he can have really enlarged lymph nodes (sometimes the size of golf balls / eggs!). Hopefully it goes down but don’t worry if it does stay the same size - both my DC will have lymph nodes that can stay up for weeks following an illness (and my DS’s permanently raised one on his collar bone!).
