DENTIST- AUTISM - HELP

Hello,

my child is 4 and has autism, one of there sensory issues is brushing teeth. They also hate going dentist and doctors so often get upset at appointments. Which often leaves the dentist or doctor not fully checking them like they would a child without autism. This is very frustrating as it feels like the dentist and doctors are just guessing instead of being able to handle a child with disabilities.

Has anyone had a similar experience and tips on how to get my child properly examined at appointments? Any other tips welcomed.

Also does anyone know of any dentists that are really good for children with autism around the Tameside, Oldham or Manchester area?

We were referred to special needs dentistry service. May be something similar in your area
