My son 14 after his Bath tonight has come and shown us a lump on his leg. Just above his ankle. I’m not sure what it is he says he’s not been kicked it’s not red and looks like a growth. It’s about 10cm long and very slightly swollen compared to the rest of his leg. Any ideas

Is it hard, or squishy? could be a cyst?
Does he play sports? Could it be an injury?

If it’s a fluid filled sack it could be a ganglion.

OhMyChickenDinner · 11/09/2023 22:43

Could be a lipoma - basically a fatty lump. My husband has had several they’re very common. The GP will be able to guide you one way or another.

Try not to worry to much just make an appointment with the GP and they should x-ray it.

SportyMumOf2 · 11/09/2023 22:55

It’s squishy and doesn’t really move

I’ll be calling the GO first thing tomorrow. We have church everywhere else and can’t thankfully see any other lumps.

he plays football but has said he definitely hasn’t been kicked there and has shin guards over the area
