Super snotty nose for months?

DS is 6 and has been snotty / snuffly for at least 2 months. Otherwise seems fine in himself.

Any idea what could be causing this? I have (possibly wrongly?) assumed it isn't allergies as his eyes are fine. Could allergies cause congestion but no other symptoms?

Seasonal rhinitis can cause that without any eye problems

My nephew had the same thing around the same age. The GP prescribed antibiotic sprays but nothing would shift it. Turns out, he had shoved a piece of a balloon up his nose and it was infected! It actually came out in the swimming pool when he blew his nose! I would make sure he’s not put anything up his nose that could be causing it

Thanks both! I didn't realise that allergies could present without eyes being affected, so I think this is likely to be the answer. Will crack out the piriton to see if that helps
