Hi there,
I'm hoping someone may have came across this before with their little one.
My DS 4 suffers with moderate excema and this is managed through the usual treatments of daily moisturising and occasional use of hydrocortisone. It usually clears up with this treatment.
The problem we are having is a very specific part of his ankle/heel. It's the skin lines on the back of the ankle - picture attached (if anyone knows the correct terminology for this, that would be great!).
My son keeps getting little red spots and his skin is quite dry, is this eczema or something else? It's ever since he started pre-school and started running around in his shoes and socks all day so we wondered if it was related to heat/moisture in his socks and shoes.
My GP prescribed a moderate steroid when it got quite bad, we thought it was in proper footwear to begin with. I don't like to use the moderate or stronger steroids too much as its already such a thin part of skin, but we always complete the course of treatment and it always comes back despite daily moisturing 3 times a day on that area.
Please take a look at the pictures and if anyone has came across this before it would be great to hear from you.
Many Thanks!
L
