13mo nighttime poop and diarrhea!

13mo DS has been waking up at 5am on the dot with a horrible diarrhea nappy for the last 7 days. He’s usually an early waker about 6am but this is out of character. Last night it was 3am, and in the last few days he’s had a streaming cold and phlegmy cough, so the poop is extra stinky, wet and mucusy.

We’ve not changed anything, he’s been on cows milk twice a day for a month, he’s been at the same nursery eating their same food as normal so genuinely no changes we can attribute it to. Worth noting he doesn’t really eat fruit so he’s not overdoing it on that which I know can sometimes cause an upset stomach.

He is drinking and eating as normal apart from today where he’s been so fussy and “off”, and eaten hardly any dinner or evening milk before bed. He has had less wet nappies today but not before today.

Is this normal at this age - like their digestive systems developing - or something I need to worry about?
