Rare Nasal polyps in child?

Anyone had experience of this?
my dd7 was taken to a&e today as she was struggling to breathe and saying her nose hurt. They did a chest X-ray and have given her a rescue inhaler
to trial.
during the examination they found 2 large nasal polyps in each nostril. The consultant said she’d never seen them before in a child 🥴and would bleep the ENT registrar. They were in surgery so couldn’t come so shes
referred her urgently to them but that’s 4-5 months away.
my
googling has said it’s extremely rare in children (0.1%) and associated with cystic fibrosis and immunodeficiency. She had the CF heel prick test at birth and she has been plagued by tonsillitis and does pick up bugs very easily but consultant said no signs of her being immunodeficient, just prone to tonsillitis🤷‍♀️
can anyone reassure me that nasal polyps in kids can be anything not bad?☹️Pic attached for interest/ help.

My son has them, they usually prescribe a nose spray to reduce size of them He is a CF carrier of an uncommon mutation. The heel prick test only picks up the most common mutations.
I don't won't to worry you but I would ask GP if she can have a sweat test.

Thanks so much for replying. Sorry what’s a sweat test? How would you know if you’re a carrier rather than actually diagnosed with it?
