My 11 year old son is undergoing tests for asthma. He hasn’t had an official diagnosis but he is on an orange preventer inhaler and has also been diagnosed with a severe allergy to grass.
He has recently had episodes where he is gasping for breath and he is finding the orange inhaler is irritating his throat.
He did a lung function test but he couldn’t do the tests in that he couldn’t get the technique right and he passed one and not the other so it was inconclusive. He has a follow up next month and I have spoken to the nurse on the phone and she said it was because he wasn’t brushing his teeth after taking it but he is now and still has the same gasping for breath.
He didn’t have this when he was on the brown inhaler but was taking his blue more often. I’m ringing the nurse again on Monday.
Does anyone have any experience of this? I’m wondering if he is on the wrong preventer?
