Tips for getting medicine in baby

Hi all

Saw a gp this morning who confirmed my 5 month old has tonsillitis. Baby is exclusively breast fed and won’t take a bottle or dummy.

We need to give him 3 doses of amoxicillin a day but already finding it impossible to get him to take it, he clamps his mouth shut for the syringe and then dribbled it back out again if we do manage to get it in.
We are going to try half doses 6 times a day instead of 3 to make it seem less traumatic for him. We’ve also tried mixing with expressed breast milk in the syringe but he still dribbled most of it back out.

Any tips please? Also need to give him Calpol but picking our battles at the moment!
