Rash on babies face after yoghurt/eggs

My 6 month old has just started weaning, I was hesitant to give him dairy or eggs as I have been going back and forth to my HV and trying to get a paediatric referral since 8 weeks because I suspected allergies through my breast milk. Kept getting told to calm down, that I was being anxious, that I need to give him a normal diet, that it is almost statistically impossible to be allergic through my breast milk etc. His symptoms were only mild, but we've struggled with his eczema (which is now under control through use of steroid cream once weekly and thick gloopy ointment twice a day!).

So I started weaning and I've attached some photos of his face after yoghurt and after egg, taken a couple of weeks apart so a reaction to both separately. It's almost like I wasn't just an anxious mother!!

Do I go back again? I've never actually seen a paediatrician but twice I've had a letter from them saying all the points made above about how it's impossible and that some babies just have eczema etc. This surely indicates some sort of allergy/intolerance?

He's also suffered repeatedly with mucous stools only to be told my paediatrician (in his letter declining our referral) that mucous is a normal component of breastfed baby stool and is not cause for concern.

Definite allergic reaction there - those are classic hives. Keep pic and armed to gp, you’ll need referral to dietitian who will work with you on a dairy ladder for reintroducing it. Both mine had this with dairy and eggs and if any help both grew out of it (my youngest who was
more severe took longer but is now fine apart from exzema which is manageable.
your mama instincts from your breast milk were spot on. Hate when we are made to feel we are being over anxious ☹️Xx

Thanks, I thought as much.

It's so frustrating isn't it, having links signposted to help with my 'anxiety' but no medical help for the infant with allergies

Totally. I had exactly the same thing and it is exhausting. They should at least take you seriously now- they are
textbook hives.

The paediatrician who rejected my referral and sent me the letter regarding allergies being impossible through breast milk was supposedly a specialist in allergies! Laughable!

Looks like my sons face (albeit my sons was a fair bit worse) when he ate eggs. He was also projectile vomiting through his nose and coughing lots.
But similar rash. Anyway he grew out of the egg allergy by age 2. NHS were quite helpful. I took him to AE and then he got fast tracked to allergy clinic

Also food can totally pass through breastmilk! I gave up dairy and eggs and it really helped baby

Yup, allergies. My baby would fuss if I had eaten a lot of dairy (bf, obvs) and then had rash when given dairy when weaned. Second time she had egg she had an anaphylactic reaction.

Your health professionals are talking out their arses.

Keep fighting it, we were told the same, I was being an over reacting first time mum.... It started off just like the pics you posted.

Fast forward a few years and she carries EpiPens for her allergies, egg and milk.

My baby got a rash when I fed her a Heinz porridge mix when weaning. It was mixed with water. A friend had a similar issue.
I tried different foods but chucked the porridge. She does get milk spots though.
