Shingles

Im currently awaiting a call back from our local out of hours GP. I think my 9 year old has shingles. He has a cluster of chickenpox type blisters in his neck and is in a great deal of pain. He also has a headache and slept all day yesterday. What can I expect over the next few days if it is shingles? Will he become more unwell before it gets better?

My dd3 currently has it. I'd taken her to the gp on Friday after she had a reaction to her immunisations. I had them look at blisters on her side and she said she has shingles. I had no idea small children could get it. Dd isn't too bad, just off her food and tired. She's on Aciclovir which I struggled to get as no where had it in liquid form, managed to order it and collected yesterday afternoon. I'm keeping her topped up with calpol.
Hope your ds is feeling better soon.

Thank you- he is to go to out of hours later tonight. Hoping he can get some aciclovir and get on the mend.
