Invasive Group Strep A infection

My 2 year old has just come home from hospital after having a iGAS infection.

Luckily it was caught early and he recovered pretty quickly and I don't think we are expecting any long term implications.

The doctor told us it will take 6-8 weeks for him to fully recover. He's currently very unstable on his feet and can barely walk after a week being very unwell in bed.

Just wondering whether there is anyone here whose child has been through a similar experience, and what the recovery was like. Not really sure how best to help him regain his strength or whether that will happen naturally with time.

Should have asked more questions of the doctor, but tbh I was a bit in shock and didn't think I had any questions at the time.

I don’t have experience of this exact
condition but my daughter 7 was hospitalised with a severe infection and I couldn’t believe
How long it took her to recover when we were allowed home. She had lost so much weight, was dizzy and unstable, didn’t want to play, I was terrified they’d missed something underlying like leukaemia she was so pale and weak.
they said it takes time to recover from a severe infection.
hand holding apart from anything else and I’m so glad he’s back home. What were his symptoms? Did it come on very fast? X
