DD has been coming out with hives, most likely a reaction to something. Only lasts 10 minutes or so, but whole body. Unfortunately we don't know what... either contact with a plant, or a reaction to insect bite (any insect bites she gets swell etc, so could be linked... unfortunately she seems to attract the blighters!). Her hobbies include camping and watersports, plus Rugby, and escaping to the nearby woods. So keeping her indoors not really an option. But we don't know exactly what is causing the reaction.

I am slightly worried that her reactions will become more extreme.

Has anyone got a child with a similar reaction and any advice? I'm hoping to convince her into long loose trousers instead if shorts (she would wear shorts all year!). Plus trainers instead of sandals... but these make her hot and sweaty. We use strong insect repellant.
Daily antihistamine tablet?

I will also attempt to get her a doctors appointment when we are back off holiday.

A daily antihistamine will do no harm, some kids are in them permanently
